Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?

Okay, this one is going to be fun!

When I was six years old back at the beginning of the 90s, I was super into the idea of Halloween. My mum had been shopping while I was at school (back when school was cool) and had picked up a particularly awesome piece of Grade A Halloween tat.

Sammy the Spider!

Sammy has been kicking around my life for 33 years, always present to varying degrees. As a kid I had him attached to my school bag for a time, then he spent years in a toybox, in and out of rotation as all good toys should be. As a teen he kind of got stuffed to the back of a drawer for years (because, you know, teens are edgy and miserable, right?) And then, after being unearthed in my more adult years, has lived on my bookcase ever since, pride of place on the Cool Shelf (everyone has one, right?)

So yeah, this one’s for you, Sammy! Keep it real you felt legged little hero!
